Broxtowe Borough Council Civic Service for the Mayor of Broxtowe, Councillor Richard MacRae

Thank you to all who made this happen and to all who attended this morning at St Helens Church in Stapleford.

I was overwhelmed with the amount of people who attended and the places they had come from.

Civic Dignitaries from all over Nottinghamshire and Erewash attended as well the Deputy Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire and the High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire.

Representatives from the Police and Fire Brigade and the Broxtowe MP.

Once the Civic Service had finished it was down to the Church Hall for a cuppa and a chat and everyone said what an amazing service it was.

Thank you to my Chaplin Emma Jones and the team at St Helens Church and of course the volunteers.

It was such an honour to be in such great company.

I feel like I need to pinch myself to make sure its not all a dream.

This morning was all about working together and how by all supporting one another we can achieve so much more and help so many others. This theme shone throughout the service and created great conversations afterwards.

Thank you also to the representatives from the Stapleford Combined Services Club for carrying the standard at today’s event.

Thank you to those who came from Broxtowe Youth Homelessness the presentation was really thought provoking.

Thank you to Jeanie Barton for the performance of our National Anthem, this had a few tears flowing.

I am so proud to be a Broxtowe Borough Councillor and being the Mayor of Broxtowe is an absolute honour and a pleasure and something I will never forget.

Also a big thank you to my good friend and Deputy Mayor of Broxtowe, Councillor David Grindell and Deputy Mayoress, Pip Hallam-Davies who often step in when myself and the Lady Mayoress are unable to attend an event. Always team work.
