Stapleford Street Art Project Approved by Stapleford Town Council Events Committee

Monday 6th March the Events Committee at Stapleford Town Council unanimously supported my proposal for a Street Art Project in Stapleford.

After seeing the success of the Beeston Street Art Project I took a proposal to the Events Committee to support having the utility boxes in Stapleford painted with some artwork.

After a debate, it was approved that we will wait until after the elections for the new administration at Stapleford Town Council before we move this project forward.

It was also agreed that I meet with the Town Clerk to go through the official process to get the correct permissions in place before we ask the wider community to get involved.

I am so happy I received full support for this and would like to thank the Councillors for this.

Also thanks to the Beeston Street Art Project for the inspiration to take this forward.

Back in the 1980s, the Council’s attitude to Street Art was very much different to how it is today and I am glad that attitudes have changed.

Details of how you can get involved will be announced in May so not to long to wait now.
