Notice of Vacancy Available to be Filled by Co-option Following a Scheduled Election

Following the scheduled election of 4th May 2023, Stapleford Town Council has one vacant seat.

The Town Council intends to co-opt to fill this vacancy and invites applications from interested persons.

Could This be You?  Are You Interested in Serving your Local Community?

To qualify you must be either:

  • · British
  • · A Commonwealth National
  • · An Irish or European Union Citizen

And:

  • · Be of at least 18 years of age and fulfil at least one of the following criteria:

(i) Be registered as an elector in the Parish of Stapleford

(ii) Reside in the Parish of Stapleford, or within three miles of the border of the Parish and have done so for the entire 12 months preceding the date of this notice.

(iii) You have occupied as owner or tenant any land or other premises in the Stapleford Parish area during the whole of the 12 months prior to the date of this notice.

(iv) Your main or only place of work during the whole of the 12 months prior to the date of this notice has been in the Stapleford Parish area.

Local knowledge and/or experience/skills in areas of relevance to the Council’s activities would be useful in this role, but not essential.

Co-option will take place on Monday 24th July 2023, and you must be available to present yourself to Councillors at this meeting.
