As we approach the Nottinghamshire County Council elections on May 1st, we seek your support to continue serving our community with dedication and integrity. Our longstanding commitment to the area and its residents is evident through years of hands-on service and collaboration with many others.
A Proven Track Record of Community Service.
We established a community group in 2011 to foster unity and address local concerns. Which has included organising day trips, job fairs, and helping residents with many issues and concerns they have raised over the years.
Richards roles have included serving as Mayor of Stapleford (2020/21), Mayor of Broxtowe (2021/22), which were both supported by Donna as well as many others.
Collaborating with Police for a Safer Community.
Richard has served as the Vice Chair and then Portfolio Holder for Community Safety at Broxtowe Borough Council, these positions have allowed him to work closely with police and community members to enhance public safety and address issues like anti-social behavior and vandalism. Understanding the challenges faced by our police force, he has actively worked to support their efforts.
Richards involvement in the Violence Reduction Partnership underscores his commitment to proactive measures against crime and support for our law enforcement officers.
Advocating for Respect and Safety.
Recognising the increasing challenges faced by public servants, Richard has taken a stand against the abuse directed at councillors and officers. He submitted a motion to Broxtowe Borough Council (Debate Not Haye) advocating for a zero-tolerance approach to such behavior, emphasising the importance of a respectful and safe working environment for all, including dedicated officers.
A Commitment to Independence and Community Focus.
As founding members of the Broxtowe Independent Group, both Richard and Donna can prioritise the needs of the community over party politics. This independence ensures that decisions are made based on what is best for residents.
