Broxtowe residents are being encouraged to participate in our survey and have their say on parks and open spaces in Broxtowe Borough.
The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/G6WTZGN (Opens in a new window) and asks residents to let us know how they feel about their local parks and open spaces. We are encouraging residents to give their ratings on signage, cleanliness, planting, facilities and general maintenance.
Councillor Helen Skinner, Chair of the Environment and Climate Change Committee has said: “Within the last year Broxtowe Borough Council has spent £199,000 on parks and open spaces. During the COVID-19 pandemic our staff have worked incredibly hard, especially as local open spaces have been very important to us during these tough times.”
“It’s important to us that residents have an opportunity to enjoy our open spaces and play facilities. We’re really keen to hear from as many residents as possible to help inform our improvement programme going forward.”
Following last year’s consultation, the Council have listened to residents and have made many improvements including the new access for people with disabilities at Pasture Road Recreation Ground, play area refurbishment at Dovecote Lane Recreation Ground and new goal posts installed at Hall Park.
The survey will be available to complete until 31st August 2021.

Dogs and their Keepers tend to blight our valuable public green spaces . A strictly enforced By-law requiring ALL dogs to be muzzled and on a short lead is MANY years overdue .

Coventry Lane enhancement suggestion. Can a style or gate be put in to the supper end of the ex waste land (now open park) through the hedge to the footpath behind thus linking to the Memorial garden beyond? This means walkers can leave walking on Coventry Lane pavements (about to get even busier) and can access Bramcote Park and the woods beyond.

Small park in Eastcote Avenue Bramcote Moor. Comments have been invited. I think this is an excellent little park, safe and stimulating. Generally well kept, but could do with a bit more space for older children to run around. Note the original complainant Mr. Eridge who lived adjacent to the park and caused all the trouble has long ago died.
The “exercising your dogs” notices should be made more clear to dog owners.
