Trowell Bulky Waste Action Day a Huge Success!

Today’s Trowell Bulky Waste Action Day was a resounding success, with many local residents turning up at Trowell Parish Hall car park to dispose of their unwanted bulky waste items. Organised by Broxtowe Borough Council, the event ran from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and saw a fantastic response from the community.

A wide range of items were collected, including furniture, mattresses, electrical goods such as TVs and fridges, as well as broken toys and play equipment. The event was a great opportunity for residents to clear out large items in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner, contributing to a cleaner and greener Trowell.

A special thank you goes to Trowell Parish Council for allowing the use of the Parish Hall car park for the event, providing a convenient and accessible location for the drop-off. The day was further supported by the efforts of Councillor Richard MacRae, who was joined by Councillor Stephen Richardson and Craig Wilkinson. Their hands-on approach in assisting the Broxtowe Borough Council staff ensured the smooth running of the collection and helped many residents offload their waste efficiently.

The event demonstrated the power of community collaboration, with residents, council members, and staff working together to keep the area clean and free of unwanted bulky waste. With such a positive turnout, there is great hope for similar events in the future.
