This morning I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Journalism students at Nottingham College, and I would like to thank them for the warm welcome and professionalism they showed throughout my visit.
From the moment I arrived, they treated me with great respect and handled the interview in such a confident way that, had they not told me, I would never have known I was their very first interviewee.
After being given my name, the students carried out their own research and prepared a set of thoughtful questions. They approached the task with nothing but professionalism, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
One subject they raised was men’s mental health, which struck a chord with me. Not only did this show the depth of their research, but it also gave me an important opportunity to talk about an issue I have personally been dealing with. I was very grateful for the chance to discuss such a vital topic with them.
The students will now be editing the footage and producing a written article to accompany it. I told them that if they need any further information or follow-up, they should not hesitate to get in touch with me—I am always happy to help.
Supporting younger generations is something I value deeply, and I hope I get the chance to take part in something like this again. It was a great morning, and I would like to thank Nottingham College and Matt Turpin for making it all happen.
