
Volunteers’ Week 2021
This week is National Volunteers’ Week – an opportunity to recognise the contribution of volunteers to local causes. One of the most heart-warming parts of being the MP for Broxtowe is to meet with and talk to constituents who give up their time to help others in our community.
Yesterday I visited Middle Street Resource Centre in Beeston. It was great to receive a tour of the building by trustees, Sylvia Stevens and Colin Failes, as well as the Business Development Manager, Paul Walsh, to hear about the work they do in supporting local people through the range of groups and activities on offer at Middle Street Resource Centre.
Whilst there, I also met Justine Schneider, a trustee of Beeston Dementia Friends who run Beeston Memory Café. The Memory Café – run entirely by volunteers – provides much needed support to those with dementia and their carers…
