Attending the National Conference on Preventing Youth Homelessness.

Today, I had the privilege of attending the National Conference on Preventing Youth Homelessness in my role as Chairman of Broxtowe Youth Homelessness. I was accompanied by one of our dedicated project workers, and together, we participated in a day filled with insightful discussions, innovative strategies, and inspiring speakers.

The conference began with a warm welcome and an opening address by experts in the field, setting the stage for a day focused on tackling youth homelessness. We had the opportunity to attend two breakout sessions:

– Breakout 5 (Morning Session): This session, titled “A Psychologically Informed Approach to Preventing Repeat Homelessness,” provided valuable insights into the psychological aspects of homelessness and how we can better support young people to break the cycle.

– Breakout 1 (Afternoon Session): In the afternoon, we attended “MHCG Update on Youth Homelessness Prevention,” which offered an update on the latest initiatives and strategies being implemented across the UK to address this critical issue.

One of the highlights of the day was meeting Dean McCullough , BBC Radio 1 presenter and Centrepoint Ambassador. Many of you may recognise Dean from his appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! His passion for raising awareness about youth homelessness and his work with Centrepoint is truly inspiring.

The conference was a fantastic opportunity to connect with other professionals, share best practices, and explore new ways to support young people in need. I am excited to bring back the knowledge and ideas we gained today to further our work at Broxtowe Youth Homelessness.

Thank you to everyone involved in organising this event, and to all the speakers and attendees who contributed to such a meaningful day. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young people facing homelessness.
